 The last of the Mohicans
Last generation of investment cars!

If you had bought and chosen to invest in a Ferrari Testarossa in 2011/12 you would have probably paid between $25/$35K back then. Fortunately for you, in today’s terms your investment would have almost tripled in 5 years. Cars like the Lamborghini Countach, the Porsche 930 Turbo, the Ferrari Testarossa to mention a few, have all tripled and in some instances quadrupled in price.  Other classics such as the 1956 Aston Martin DBR1 that was raced by the legendary Sterling Moss, was recently sold for a whopping $22 million. Wow!

Some people choose Art for investment purposes, others Gold and the others still, Classic cars that take pride of place as investment pieces. It’s a contradiction in terms, because strictly speaking, the minute a car leaves the showroom it decreases in value almost immediately. Sometimes as much as 25% off the purchased price. So investing in cars that are manufactured today, doesn’t seem like an option at all. However, classic cars have and do increase in value as they get older, as you can tell by the incredible prices they fetched.

Cars like the Lamborghini Countach are unique as they still fetch amazing prices, but they are now few and far between and continue to become more exclusive. The Lamborghini Countach went for $75K in 2011 to 2013 but amazingly is now valued at $350-$900K. Investors/car lovers are reluctant to part with these babies now.  Another example such as the Ferrari 250 GTO rarely come onto the market as only 36 of these legendary coupes’ were produced. One sold in 2014 for $38 million- the world’s most expensive car to date.

Buying a classic car takes commitment to the process and partnering with the right dealer is of paramount importance. The Classics are investment luxuries that will only increase in value, but accessing these classics are becoming more difficult to come by.
So if you are in the market for a Blue-chip, tangible Investment, then call your local specialty car dealer now, and start you quest for the right car.
